During CCMT 2026 (China CNC Machine Tool Fair 2026), Pier Angelo Cerva, founder and owner of Syntax S.R.L., visited China together with Vincent Wang, Syntax’s strategic partner in China, and Riccardo Smussi, a key regional dealer for Syntax in Italy.
The purpose of this visit was not simply to attend the exhibition, but to assess, from a European industrial perspective, the current level of Chinese manufacturing in several key areas: advanced CNC machine tools, automation solutions, critical functional components, delivery discipline, documentation awareness, and long-term cooperation potential for the European market.
Through meetings with multiple Chinese manufacturers at CCMT 2026, the team gained first-hand insight into the latest developments in China’s machine tool and automation industry. The visit confirmed once again the strong momentum of Chinese manufacturing in terms of technology evolution, product development and industrial application. At the same time, it also highlighted that companies aiming to work successfully with European customers still need to strengthen their capabilities in standardization, CE-related awareness, technical documentation, after-sales support, and cross-cultural communication.
A particularly meaningful moment of the trip took place during the Taikan CCMT Shanghai Gala Dinner 2026, where Mr. Pier Angelo Cerva was invited to attend and had the opportunity to meet Mr. Xia Jun, Chairman of Taikan, and Mr. Jason Liu, Overseas Sales Director. During the evening, Mr. Cerva also spontaneously presented Chairman Xia Jun with an Italian pin, as a friendly and symbolic gesture of Italy-China exchange.
The event provided a valuable opportunity for deeper dialogue in a more informal setting, with the participation of Vincent Wang and Riccardo Smussi as well. Beyond the exhibition itself, this visit represented an important step in reinforcing mutual understanding, industrial trust, and future cooperation opportunities between European partners and leading Chinese manufacturers.
For Syntax, this trip was not only a trade fair visit, but also a practical validation of future collaboration models with Chinese suppliers and technology partners. For Syntax China – the strategy partner SYY Engineering & Supply Chain Solutioins, it further confirmed its value as a strategic local bridge between European expectations and on-the-ground execution in China.
Syntax will continue to work with a pragmatic, professional and long-term approach to create stronger connections between European industrial needs and Chinese manufacturing capabilities.
